Excessive sweating treatment

Hyperhidrosis also known as excessive sweating, is a disorder of the eccrine sweat glands that can really impact an individuals life.

Some common areas where overactive sweat glands can occur are : palms of your hands, soles of your feet, axillary region, face/head/neck, groin and torso.

There are two different types of excessive sweating: primary and secondary hyperhidrosis.

Primary:  excessive sweating occurs in one area such as the underarms. Usually primary hyperhidrosis is inherited from a family member who has the disorder.

Secondary: Sweating occurs across the body and not one area.

Not to worry, Botox®  (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medication which blocks the secretion of the chemical known as acetylcholine that triggers sweat glands.
